Job summary

Alaska Commercial Company (ACC) seeks a Director, Transportation and Logistics to lead planning, direction, and continuous improvement of transportation, logistics, depot and warehouse operations supporting ACC stores and PAW.

You will own transportation strategy and execution, carrier and postal relationships, freight rates and contracts, depot operations, and technology-enabled improvements across Alaska and the Pacific Northwest.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of transportation, logistics, distribution, depot or supply-chain experience.
• Strong understanding of Alaska transportation networks and freight modes.
• Experience managing results and developing managers/supervisors.
• Proven vendor negotiations and contract management skills.
• Experience with transportation, warehouse and financial modeling tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and maintain an efficient multimodal WMS transportation network supporting ACC and PAW.
• Lead depot and warehouse operations to preserve inventory and safety.
• Negotiate freight rates and manage carrier contracts and service expectations.
• Lead transportation and cost-analysis using performance metrics and technology.
• Collaborate with stores and departments to improve metrics and resolve issues.
• Develop team capability and ensure compliance with safety and budgets.
