Job summary

START Center for Cancer Research in Pittsburgh is seeking a Director of Study Operations to lead research operations, ensuring study conduct meets START standards, regulatory requirements, and delivers high-quality patient care.

The role provides direction to the Clinical Research Coordinator, Data Coordinator, and Medical Records teams, partnering with Nursing and Shared Services to support site operations, study activation, and QA activities across the network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership in oncology clinical research.
• CITI GCP training completed.
• Knowledge of GCP, GDPR and US federal regulations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and clinical documentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective leadership to the Clinical Research Coordinator, Data Coordination, and Medical Records teams.
• Oversee training and competency development for staff and management.
• Ensure data management, monitoring communication, and GCP compliance with documented SOPs.
• Support study acquisition/activation with global shared services, protocol review, and data capture in systems.
• Improve processes to support patient care workflows and compliant research operations.
• Collaborate with regulatory, quality, site development, pharmacy and finance teams.
