Job summary

St. Michael's Prep in Austin, TX is actively seeking a Director of Student Wellness to lead the Upper School's wellbeing program, supervise counselors, and coordinate proactive student support.

The role centers on balancing academics, faith life, rest, and relationships while aligning with the school's Catholic mission. The successful candidate will have a master's degree in a related field, 7–10 years of experience in student wellbeing, and a track record in program leadership and staff

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field and licensure/certification preferred.
• 7–10 years of experience in student support or wellbeing in schools.
• Experience leading advisory or mentorship programs and staff.
• Strong communication with students, families, and colleagues.
• Familiarity with FERPA, mandated reporting, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for student wellbeing across the Upper School.
• Lead counseling team and coordinate universal wellbeing programming.
• Collaborate with Health Office and school nurse on physical health matters.
• Develop and maintain a wellbeing program manual and protocols.
• Oversee advisory program and train faculty advisors.
• Communicate with families and leadership about wellbeing initiatives.
