Job summary

St. Michael’s Prep in Austin, TX seeks an experienced Director of College and Academic Counseling to lead the college admissions program for students from 9th through graduation, using a cohort-looping model.

The Director will work closely with the Head of Upper School and Academic Deans to implement forward-thinking advising focused on college readiness and academic planning. This full-time, exempt, 12-month role is in-person and reports to the Head of Upper School, with responsibilities

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree and 3–5 years of college counseling and/or college admission experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational ability, and the ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the college and academic counseling program from 9th through graduation using a cohort-looping model.
• Meet regularly with students and families to discuss college admissions timelines and coursework.
• Coordinate PSAT and AP exams on campus and liaise with college admissions offices.
• Prepare information sessions for parents and students and maintain scholarship and program databases.
