Job summary

The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education is seeking a senior network leader to oversee OneNet’s statewide routing and switching architecture in Oklahoma City. You will guide engineering staff, manage budgets, and coordinate with upstream providers to ensure secure, scalable connectivity for education, research, and public-sector partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, CS, or related field plus 5 years in networking.
• Experience designing and managing routing and switching infrastructures.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP, routing protocols, and optical transport.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the OneNet Network Engineering Department staff.
• Responsible for all aspects of OneNet’s statewide routing and switching infrastructure.
• Manage the Network Engineering Department budget.
• Coordinate and maintain all OneNet external relationships with upstream providers.
• Maintain current knowledge of technology landscape, opportunities and threats.
• Evaluate and test new technologies and provide recommendations to management.
• Design, support, and maintain OCAN routed network services.
• Assist the Senior Network Architect by overseeing and designing complex routing and switching structures for the OneNet network.
• Oversee disaster recovery and security for OneNet network services.
• Collaborate with OneNet subscribers’ technical teams to establish, improve, or upgrade their services and OneNet offerings as needed.
• Provide recommendations regarding hiring, termination, advancement, promotion, or other modifications to the employment status of assigned personnel.
• Collaborate on the development and deployment of Network Infrastructure Projects.
• Advise the provisioning department on network needs and circuit best practices.
• Collaborate on OneNet’s research and education projects and grant engagements.
• Other similar duties as assigned
