Job summary

Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) is seeking a senior leader to head the Solutions Engineering function in San Francisco. You will own the end-to-end program, assemble and mentor a team of Solutions Architects and Solutions Engineers, and drive end-to-end partner engagements from discovery through production launch and ongoing support.

You will ensure architectural rigor, scale partnerships, and balance long-term roadmap needs with immediate partner requirements.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading customer-facing engineering or solutions teams.
• Strong technical background to lead architectural discussions and evaluate system trade-offs.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams (Solutions Architects, Forward-Deployed Engineers, Partner Engineers).
• Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-evolving environments; helps define structure and best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication translating partner needs to internal priorities.
• Experience with enterprise or institutional partners and senior technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for partner engagements.
• Ownership and accountability for program outcomes beyond individual engagements.

Responsibilities

• Own and refine Stellar’s Solutions Engineering program, including engagement models, partner tiering, and escalation paths.
• Build, mentor, and grow a team of Solutions Architects and Solutions Engineers, including external collaborators.
• Lead end-to-end technical partner engagements from discovery to production launch and ongoing support.
• Serve as a senior technical escalation point for high-tier partners requiring architectural guidance.
• Provide hands-on architectural leadership: guide designs, review trade-offs, and derisk integrations.
• Set and uphold a high technical quality bar for enterprise integrations, ensuring secure, scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to surface partner needs and inform roadmap prioritization.
• Design repeatable engagement models and SLAs that scale without sacrificing quality.
• Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, and certification for solutions engineers.
• Represent SDF in strategic partner conversations and deep technical reviews.
• Continuously improve the program based on live integrations and evolving partner needs.
