Job summary

EDB is seeking a high-impact security leader to oversee Security Operations and Security Engineering. You will report to the CISO, owning detection, response, and increasingly preventive controls across people, processes, and technology.

You will partner with Governance, Risk & Compliance and Application Security, shaping the broader InfoSec program while aligning with IT and Product roadmaps. This scaling role will guide hiring, automation, and cross-functional risk management as the business

Qualifications

• 5+ years of management experience leading security teams.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in security operations, incident response, detection, or security engineering.
• Track record of scaling a security function through rapid growth (hiring, automation, and operating discipline).
• Strategic thinking that translates technical risk into business impact for executives and legal/commercial teams.
• Comfort in a global, remote-first environment with flexible schedules and on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Incident response end to end, including intake, severity modeling, and post-action improvements.
• Detection engineering, threat hunting, and managing SIEM/EDR/SOAR and cloud security platforms.
• Security Engineering strategy focused on preventive controls, least privilege, and identity assurance across employees, contractors, and build systems.
• Lead insider threat program in collaboration with HR, Legal, and IT.
• Develop automation and agent-based AI to extend analyst capacity while preserving human decision ownership.
• Integrate security across acquired companies and new environments into EDB's standards.
• Collaborate with IT and Product leadership to embed preventive controls into platforms, pipelines, and products; assess third-party risk and device posture with GRC.
• Scale the program design, cadence, budget, and vendor strategy to match business growth.
