Job summary

EDB, a data and AI platform provider for PostgreSQL, is seeking a leader to run Security Operations and Security Engineering. You will report to the CISO and own detection, response, and preventive engineering across people, platforms, and playbooks as the organization scales.

You’ll collaborate with Governance, Risk & Compliance and Application Security & Vulnerability Management, and partner with IT and Product to embed security into pipelines and roadmaps.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of management experience leading security teams.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in security operations, incident response, detection, or security engineering.
• Track record of scaling a security function through rapid growth.
• Strategic thinking that goes beyond the immediate scope of the role.
• Ability to translate technical risk into business impact for executives, legal, customers, and IT/Product counterparts.
• Comfort in a global, remote-first environment with flexible schedules and on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Incident response end to end, from intake and severity model through after-action and improvement.
• Detection engineering, threat hunting, and the SIEM, EDR, SOAR, and cloud security platforms.
• Security Engineering strategy with preventive controls, least privilege, and identity assurance.
• Insider threat program developed with HR, Legal, and IT.
• Automation and agentic AI to extend analyst capacity.
• Security integration of acquired companies and new environments into EDB standards.
• Partnership with IT and Product leadership to embed preventive controls into platforms and pipelines; security input to third-party risk.
• Scale the program with org design, rhythms, roadmap, budget, and vendor strategy.
