Job summary

Carolina Container seeks a Safety Director to lead EHS programs across manufacturing and warehouse operations in High Point, NC. You will develop policies, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive a culture of safety excellence through training and audits.

The role requires directing health, safety, and environmental initiatives, coordinating emergency planning, and reporting metrics to leadership while promoting continuous improvement and strong leadership across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering or related field is required.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Professional certifications such as CSP, CSD, ASP, or CIH preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety.
• Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.
• Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention.
• Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims.
• Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.
• Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics.
• Develop and execute company-wide safety strategies, policies, and programs.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, and applicable regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
• Lead corrective action efforts and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees and supervisors.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness and response planning.
• Monitor safety metrics and provide regular reports to leadership.
• Oversee environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives.
