Job summary

The University of Mississippi seeks a Director of Research Compliance to provide strategic leadership and regulatory expertise across human, animal, and biosafety research compliance programs. You will direct IRB, IACUC, and IBC operations, ensure adherence to federal/state regulations, and guide policy development and staff supervision to maintain a robust compliance environment.

Reporting to leadership, you will oversee accreditation activities, training initiatives, and regulatory reporting

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in a relevant discipline.
• Professional certification such as CIP, CPIA, CBSP or comparable credential.
• Experience administering IRB, IACUC, and/or IBC programs at a research-intensive institution.
• Direct experience in conducting research at an academic institution.
• Experience supervising professional staff and managing multiple programs.

Responsibilities

• Directs the administration of IRB, IACUC, and IBC ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
• Oversees regulatory review for human, animal, and other regulated research activities.
• Leads post-approval monitoring, investigations, and accreditation activities.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates policies and standard operating procedures.
• Supervises research compliance personnel and allocates resources.
• Represents the University in dealings with regulatory bodies and sponsors.
