Job summary

American Jewish Committee (AJC) in New York seeks a senior Development leader to drive regional fundraising strategy, campaigns, and donor stewardship. You will mentor staff, work with boards, manage budgets, and expand the impact of development initiatives across the region.

You will oversee campaigns, events, and reports, ensuring effective philanthropy, strong donor engagement, and data-driven decision making to support AJC’s mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum of 10 years of related work experience.
• Passion for the mission and values of AJC.
• Fundraising experience.
• Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, listening).
• Ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
• Strong organization and project management; ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
• Willing to work outside standard hours.
• Proficient in Office apps, Google Suite, and Zoom.

Responsibilities

• Lead the regional/department strategy, goals, and action plans.
• Develop, oversee, and facilitate fundraising campaigns, programs, events, and initiatives.
• Identify, research, cultivate, engage, solicit, and steward donors and prospects.
• Collaborate with Boards, committees, and working groups; mentor staff.
• Create reports and analyze department activities, metrics, and impact.
• Oversee budgets for development-related programs and events.
