Job summary

3MD Inc. in Redmond, WA seeks a Director of Product Engineering to lead product engineering, systems architecture, and design governance for scalable automation solutions for logistics customers.

You will bridge product strategy with design controls, oversee PLM systems and QMS, and align Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sales, and customers to deliver high-quality, production-ready systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• 10+ years of system design, product engineering, or related engineering experience.
• Experience implementing or managing ISO 9001 quality systems and audits; Lead Auditor preferred.
• Extensive PLM administration or power-user experience with Windchill, Teamcenter, Arena, or Enovia.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the product engineering and systems architecture roadmap aligned with company objectives and market demand.
• Lead engineering activities across the product lifecycle from concept to continuous improvement.
• Govern and improve the engineering QMS and ensure ISO 9001:2015 compliance.
• Standardize design controls, including requirements management, reviews, risk analysis, V&V, and release criteria.
• Oversee PLM governance, ECN/ECO workflows, and BOM management to ensure traceability from requirements to production.
• Partner with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and customers to define product requirements and drive improvements.
• Recruit and mentor systems design and configuration engineering talent; develop training for PLM tools and processes.
