Job summary

Copa Health is seeking a Full-Time Director of Practice Operations to lead front office design and patient access across Arizona sites. You will standardize workflows, oversee eligibility and payer processes, and drive revenue integrity while partnering with clinical operations and IT to reduce barriers to care.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years in healthcare operations, with experience in Medicare/Medicaid, HIPAA, and EHR systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, public administration, health information management, or related field.
• Five years of progressive experience in healthcare practice operations, patient access, front office management, eligibility/enrollment, or revenue cycle, including at least two years of direct staff supervision.
• Demonstrated experience with Medicare, Medicaid/AHCCCS, Title XIX, commercial insurance, benefit verification, patient financial responsibility, and payer portals.
• Ability to design workflows, write SOPs, manage change, analyze performance data, and lead consistent operations across teams or sites.
• Working knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare registration, billing, authorization, and documentation practices.
• Proficiency with electronic health records, practice management systems, Microsoft Office, reporting tools, and web-based payer systems.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel locally among organizational locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and standardization of front office and patient access workflows across multiple sites.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, desk guides, scripts, and internal controls for front office functions.
• Oversee eligibility verification, enrollment, and payer administration to ensure timely and accurate data.
• Manage revenue integrity: co-pays, deductibles, self-pay, and payment arrangements with compliant controls.
• Recruit, coach, and evaluate front office staff; foster accountability and performance.
• Ensure HIPAA and payer-related compliance across front desks and registration processes.
