Job summary

7-Eleven, Inc. is seeking a Store Systems Engineering Manager to lead software engineering strategy for POS and store technology platforms.

You will manage teams delivering reliable POS software in a high-volume retail environment, partnering with Product, Store Operations, Security, and Infrastructure. The ideal candidate has deep POS/transaction-processing software experience, cloud-native engineering, distributed systems, integrations, and modern delivery practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience or master’s with 10+ years in computer science
• 12+ years software engineering experience, 5+ years leadership, proven enterprise-scale success
• Strong expertise in enterprise architecture, distributed systems, microservices, event-driven patterns
• Deep knowledge of QA Automation, automation frameworks, performance testing, TDD/BDD
• Advanced cloud, DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, observability, platform engineering
• Strong leadership, stakeholder and budget management, strategic planning capabilities
• Lead development of transaction-oriented software with high volume, low latency, availability

Responsibilities

• Lead software engineering teams delivering POS software and store systems
• Define and execute the engineering roadmap for POS apps, services, APIs, platforms
• Establish architecture for secure, reliable, scalable POS software
• Guide design reviews, testing strategy, release planning, production support
• Partner with Product and Store Operations to translate requirements into solutions
• Drive cloud strategy and DevOps alignment with security and architecture
• Promote Agile/Scrum/SAFe practices across the lifecycle
• Track KPIs/OKRs for delivery quality, reliability, and value
• Mentor engineers and foster a high-performance culture
• Ensure documentation, release processes, and handoffs are sustainable
