Job summary

7-Eleven Irving, TX is seeking a Principal Solution Architect to lead the technical architecture for POS and store technology platforms. This hands-on role involves solution design, coding, prototyping, code reviews, troubleshooting, and production issue resolution.

The ideal candidate has deep POS/transaction-processing expertise, strong distributed-systems and cloud-native experience, and the ability to connect enterprise architecture with implementation details.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 8+ years in architecture or technical leadership on enterprise-scale systems.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architecture, and secure SDLC.
• Hands-on programming ability and experience with POS or transaction-processing systems.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical vision and architecture roadmap for POS applications and store tech.
• Write production-quality code, build prototypes, and perform reviews with engineering teams.
• Translate requirements into architecture decisions, API designs, and delivery plans.
• Lead design reviews, set engineering standards, and mentor engineers and tech leads.
• Drive CI/CD, IaC, containerization, and production operations practices.
