Job summary

Hiscox USA is seeking a Solution Architect to design, govern, and evolve end-to-end technology solutions for Digital Experience and API integration within the insurance value chain. You’ll collaborate with business leaders, product owners, and engineering teams to ensure scalable, secure, and compliant solutions aligned with enterprise standards.

The role requires deep technical expertise across UX/CX, API development, and insurance knowledge, with a track record in complex programs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in solution, systems, or enterprise architecture.
• 5+ years of experience in insurance technology environments.
• Strong knowledge of current UX/CX tooling, patterns and testing methodologies.
• Experience with Core Insurance Platforms.
• Demonstrated practical experience with architecture principles.
• Strong communication, storytelling and presentation skills.
• Experience in an Agile software development environment.
• Strong software engineering or lead developer experience moving into architecture.
• Track record of managing architecture of multiple change projects/programs in a complex environment.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Self-starter who can work autonomously and add value in a team.
• Excellent interpersonal, organization and time management skills.
• Cooperative, flexible and able to work well with others.

Responsibilities

• Interact with technical engineers and senior stakeholders with adaptable communication style.
• Identify stakeholder needs to address major concerns throughout projects.
• Own the overall architecture strategy and communicate it across teams.
• Present options, risks, and recommendations clearly to leadership.
• Document architectural artifacts such as As-Is, Transformation, and To-Be architectures.
• Defend solutions before Architecture Review Board.
• Ensure artifacts match current implementations and future plans.
• Translate business domain language to technical concepts for design decisions.
• Engage technical teams to deliver solutions using AI and UX/CX tooling.
