Job summary

Kate Spade New York, a part of the Tapestry portfolio, is seeking a senior merchandising leader to own the handbag and small leather goods assortment strategy for Outlet and related categories. You will craft brand-right product selections, drive margin-friendly costing, and partner across Design, Product Development, GMP and business units to align with brand goals.

You will analyze weekly sales, identify opportunities for growth, and mentor a team to deliver against key objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years merchandising/buying experience with a focus on Leathergoods.
• Minimum 4+ years people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead and communicate the merchandising product and assortment strategy for Outlet Handbags and Small Leathergoods.
• Create relevant, cohesive and compelling brand-right product assortments that drive business, building newness while not excluding current customers.
• Partner with Design and Product Development to build and execute an assortment that addresses brand strategies and customer needs.
• Drive communication of costing needs to maintain margin targets.
• Partner with GMP and Business Units to influence objectives and identify opportunities globally.
• Analyze weekly sales to understand business state and make growth recommendations.
• Identify product opportunities through consumer research, feedback and trends.
• Maintain knowledge of competitive landscape and pricing strategies.
• Manage team to meet deliverables while supporting growth.
