Job summary

George Mark Children’s House seeks a Director of Operations to lead facilities and dietary/housekeeping services, oversee capital projects, vendor contracts, and regulatory compliance. The role emphasizes safe, efficient operations and compassionate care for pediatric patients and families.

The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of leadership in operations, strong budgeting skills, and a strategic, empathetic leadership style. Requires CaliforniaDriver's License and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, Facilities Management, Healthcare Administration, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in Operations Management, preferably in healthcare, hospitality or non-profit.
• Experience managing facilities and operations teams including oversight of building systems and maintenance programs.
• Capital project management experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance (OSHA, HIPAA, state/local).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to work some evenings and weekends; travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and management for Facilities and Dietary/Housekeeping departments.
• Oversee capital projects and vendor contracts; ensure safety, regulatory compliance and quality standards.
• Develop and manage budgets for each department and monitor financial performance.
• Lead IT/systems vendor evaluation and adoption of new technologies to improve efficiency.
• Ensure policies, procedures, and HIPAA compliance across the operation.
