Transamerica is seeking an accomplished financial accounting leader to establish and direct a high-performing center of excellence focused on accounting discipline, process rigor, and control effectiveness. The role partners with Finance, Risk, and Operations to ensure accurate reporting and strong governance.

Ideal candidates have 12+ years in insurance accounting, strong leadership, and the ability to manage complex reconciliation and reporting processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 12+ years of experience in insurance accounting or financial services.
• Experience leading suspense cleanup, reconciliation improvement, aging reduction, or related remediation initiatives.
• Demonstrated management/leadership experience.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing to all audiences.
• Ability to lead a large group of employees and manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead an operational accounting center of excellence to drive consistent execution and governance.
• Ensure integrity and accuracy of accounting and financial reporting information with emphasis on cash activity and reconciliations.
• Drive disciplined monitoring of cash and suspense reconciliation open items and remediation progress.
• Identify operational gaps, control weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement using reconciliation results.
• Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Risk, and Internal Controls to resolve accounting matters.
• Develop financial reports and models for forecasting and result analysis.
• Lead adherence to internal control framework and risk management across operations.
