Job summary

The State of South Carolina's Department Head for Network Systems Management and Cybersecurity leads the Business Technology Division, guiding academic programs, curriculum development, and faculty supervision to advance student success and workforce readiness.

Collaborating with faculty, industry partners, and community stakeholders, the role ensures programs stay current with industry standards and accreditation expectations while fostering a student-centered culture.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in NMS/Cybersecurity/Info Systems.
• 3+ years progressively responsible related work experience.
• Technical certifications relevant to cybersecurity/IT preferred.
• Experience in higher education, technical education, or workforce training.
• Ability to lead curriculum development and program assessment.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in Network Systems Management, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, and related disciplines.
• Provide leadership for academic programs by evaluating, revising, and developing curriculum and materials reflecting industry standards.
• Promote teaching excellence through assessment of student success data and course evaluations.
• Supervise and evaluate faculty and staff; assist with recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.
• Advise and mentor students on academic planning, career pathways, and job placement.
• Ensure timely completion of departmental reports, accreditation, assessment activities, and scheduling.
• Build relationships with employers, advisory committees, industry partners, and community stakeholders.
• Participate in college committees, institutional initiatives, and professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
