Job summary

HTX in Houston, TX is building a world-class, manufacturing-led housing platform and seeks a Managing Director, Factory Operations. This role oversees factory startup, commissioning, and operational readiness, leading production, logistics, maintenance, quality, and safety to enable high-volume, predictable housing delivery.

Reporting to the CEO, you will shape the operating system, workforce, and continuous improvement culture, collaborating with Design & Engineering, Land Development,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 10 years manufacturing leadership experience.
• 5 years leading large-scale production operations.
• Experience in modular, industrialized housing or related sectors.
• Proven success with Lean/Six Sigma/TOC or similar CI methods.
• Experience scaling production during growth.
• Strong workforce and leadership development background.
• Proven ability to build and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• History of operational excellence and process discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead startup, commissioning, and readiness activities for the factory.
• Develop processes, SOPs, and quality systems.
• Build the factory leadership team and initial workforce.
• Establish performance standards, reporting, and controls.
• Lead production, logistics, maintenance, safety, and quality.
• Drive annual operating plans and KPIs.
• Eliminate bottlenecks and improve throughput.
• Foster a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
