AEC Resources, Inc. in Minneapolis seeks a Mechanical Team Leader to guide the building systems discipline for commercial projects. You will manage a team of engineers and designers, shape technical standards, mentor staff, and coordinate with other disciplines and clients to deliver high-quality outcomes.

The role blends technical leadership with project oversight, staffing, and business development. Strong communication and a PE (or Minnesota licensure) are preferred; ownership track awaits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in building systems.
• Experience leading or managing engineering professionals.
• PE licensure or ability to obtain Minnesota licensure.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical codes, standards, and design practices.
• Experience with mechanical design technologies, tools, and workflows.
• Ability to delegate, mentor, and develop staff.
• Experience planning projects, setting priorities, and balancing demands.
• Strong communication skills and client interaction.
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop mechanical engineers and designers on a wide variety of commercial building projects.
• Establish expectations and support the professional growth of team members.
• Oversee mechanical engineering quality, QA/QC, codes, standards, and design practices.
• Help advance technical processes, tools, and continuous improvement within the discipline.
• Forecast workload and coordinate staffing and resources across active and upcoming projects.
• Provide oversight to help projects meet scope, schedule, budget, quality, and profitability goals.
• Coordinate mechanical work with other engineering and design disciplines.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with clients and project partners.
• Contribute to proposals, interviews, scopes, fees, and business development activities.
• Participate in hiring, performance management, and broader leadership initiatives.
