Hadrian is building autonomous factories to reindustrialize America. The role leads the mechanical engineering team responsible for Hadrian's automation equipment—from concept through build and production run-in—and mentors engineers in a hybrid, high-performance environment.

You will push boundaries by applying AI and advanced tooling to design, select what to build vs buy, and collaborate with controls, software, and operations to scale manufacturing capabilities across facilities.

Qualifications

• 12+ years designing automation equipment or production machinery.
• Several years leading mechanical engineers.
• Track record delivering automation equipment from concept to commissioning on 24/7 production lines.
• Deep mechanical design skills: mechanisms, fixtures, EOAT, tolerances, actuators, safety.
• Experience growing engineers and earning trust with technicians and operators.
• Uses AI and new tools in engineering workflow.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead and grow the mechanical engineering team that designs Hadrian's automation equipment.
• Deliver machines, fixtures, EOAT and material handling from concept through build and run-in.
• Set design standards and run design reviews for CAD, drawings, GD&T and safety.
• Stay hands-on: review designs and make the hard technical calls.
• Decide what to design in-house vs buy; plan equipment budget and manage vendors.
• Partner with controls, software, manufacturing and operations; bring AI tools into design.
