Job summary

Lexicon, Inc. in Little Rock, AR, seeks an experienced maintenance safety leader to design and manage the industrial safety program, shaping strategy, standards, training, investigations, and continuous improvement to reduce incidents and meet regulatory requirements.

You will coordinate with operations, reliability, engineering, procurement, and contractors to integrate safety into maintenance planning, lead contractor safety management, and provide metrics-driven updates to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of EHS experience in heavy industrial environments.
• 3–5 years leading maintenance safety programs or teams.
• CSP/CIH/CHST or relevant safety certifications preferred; NFPA 70E knowledge desirable.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the maintenance safety management system, policies, procedures, and work controls (lockout/tagout, confined space, hot work, electrical safety, fall protection, permit systems).
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, local regulations, industry standards (ANSI, NFPA 70E), and company EHS policies.
• Lead safety training and competency programs for maintenance staff and contractors (LOTO, confined space entry, electrical safety, PPE, hazard communication, emergency response).
• Oversee incident investigations and root cause analysis; develop corrective and preventive action plans and track closure.
• Coordinate with operations, reliability, engineering, procurement, and contractors to integrate safety into maintenance planning, shutdowns, and capital projects.
• Monitor safety metrics, KPIs, and reporting (TRIR, DART, near-miss rates); present findings to senior leadership.
• Oversee emergency preparedness for maintenance activities, including drills and coordination with local emergency services.
• Manage budgets for maintenance safety programs, PPE, tools, and training; justify investments in safety improvements.
• Mentor and develop the maintenance safety team; recruit, allocate resources, and set priorities.
