Job summary

Maricopa County is seeking a Maintenance Manager for the Flood Control District to supervise a team of two O&M Supervisors and 60+ indirect reports across four locations. The role ensures safe, reliable maintenance operations, fabrication and repair shop supervision, and interdepartmental coordination to meet program goals.

Qualifications

• Seven years of experience in skilled construction or maintenance, with two years of supervisory experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Post-secondary education in a related field may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Direct, plan, organize, and coordinate the activities assigned to the Maintenance Branch staff, including a fabrication and repair shop, vector control team, and heavy equipment operations.
• Prepare and manage budgets for Flood Control maintenance projects, ensuring cost-effective resource utilization and adherence to budgetary constraints.
• Coordinate with other County departments to ensure high-quality work and accountability for assigned duties and programs.
• Manage 24-hour operations and emergency responses to flooding incidents, including storm damage and other natural disasters.
• Oversee safety rules, department policies, and performance management plans.
