The General Maintenance Worker will perform outdoor maintenance in Arizona's desert, building and maintaining flood control structures and supporting public safety. The role involves hands-on construction and routine upkeep of facilities, trails, and open spaces across Maricopa County.

Candidates should have at least one year of general maintenance experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid Arizona driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual labor in building and maintaining roadways and Flood Control structures; maintain landscaping and clear brush and debris from roadways, structures, and facilities.
  • Operate a variety of trucks, equipment, and hand tools in accordance with safety regulations; clean and maintain equipment as needed.
  • Perform traffic control activities as needed; report safety hazards; protect public safety and property during emergencies.
  • Load and unload materials, supplies, and equipment, and deliver to job sites as directed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
