Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking a Maintenance Director to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of maintenance, reliability, facilities, and asset management across manufacturing operations. The role focuses on maximizing equipment uptime, improving efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving world-class performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• MBA or Master's preferred for strategic leadership.
• 15+ years in progressive maintenance leadership within manufacturing.
• Minimum 7+ years leading multi-site maintenance teams.
• Proven success in high-volume manufacturing maintenance ops.
• Experience with preventive, predictive, RCFA, and reliability programs.
• Strong knowledge of industrial automation, PLCs, robotics, hydraulics, pneumatics.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Executive leadership, strategic planning, budget & capital project management.
• Ability to coach, develop and succession-plan maintenance staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance, reliability, facilities and asset management across manufacturing.
• Develop strategies to maximize equipment uptime and operational efficiency.
• Provide direction to managers, engineers, planners and technicians.
• Oversee RCFA, preventive/predictive maintenance and spare parts optimization.
• Drive data-driven planning, scheduling and resource allocation.
• Align maintenance with production schedules and quality initiatives.
• Lead cost management, budgeting, and capital projects.
• Foster safety, teamwork and continuous improvement culture.
