Job summary

The Director of Spa at a luxury hotel in Boston leads all spa and wellness operations, directing guest experiences, service standards, and commercial performance.

This senior role oversees budgeting, revenue strategies, programming, and team development, reporting to the Hotel Manager. The ideal candidate will have extensive spa leadership in luxury hospitality, strong financial acumen, and a passion for wellness storytelling.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the spa or wellness industry, with luxury hospitality experience preferred.
• Proven leadership experience as a Spa Director or in a comparable senior management role.
• Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, financial reporting, and revenue generation strategy.
• Deep knowledge of spa treatments, therapies, fitness programmes, and current wellness trends.
• Strategic thinking and analytical skills with the ability to develop and implement successful spa strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine talent for building guest relationships.
• Adaptable, innovative, and comfortable thriving in a fast-paced luxury environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across all spa operations, setting the direction for service excellence, wellness programming, and revenue performance.
• Develop and execute plans that align with hotel business objectives, revenue goals, and luxury standards.
• Curate and lead wellness storytelling initiatives, experiential concepts, and seasonal activations that bring the spa's identity to life.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop authentic narratives around the spa menu, wellness offerings, local culture, and partnerships.
• Manage budgets, forecasting, labour costs, and capital expenditures to achieve and exceed financial targets.
• Identify and drive incremental revenue opportunities, analyse business trends, and implement strategies to optimize performance.
• Recruit, develop, coach, and retain a high-performing spa team.
• Establish clear performance expectations and promote a culture of luxury service, innovation, and continuous improvement.
