Job summary

• Periodically evaluate and update priority languages and language tiering as markets expand.
• Evangelize localization best practices across the organization and with cross-functional teams.
• Serve as escalation point for translation-related issues from regional teams.
• Define content that must be translated across end-to-end customer and employee experiences by language tier.
• Establish style guidelines for translation tone and formality to vendors and reviewers.
• Determine mandatory languages and service levels for all content.
• Track vendor relationships, tooling, and enterprise-wide spending; drive cost efficiencies.

Job Summary

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Localization Leader to oversee our translation and localization efforts at Equinix. This role will be responsible for establishing and enforcing language standards, managing vendor relationships, and driving continuous improvement in our localization processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of localization strategies and governance, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Strategy and Governance: Own internal guidance on language sets, service levels, and translation quality
• Periodically evaluate and update priority languages and language tiering models as Equinix expands into new markets
• Reinforce and evangelize localization and internationalization best practices across the organization
• Serve as an escalation point for functional and regional teams to resolve translation-related issues
• Collaborate with the business to identify content that must be translated across the end-to-end customer and employee experience by language tier
• Standards: Establish and disseminate style guidelines for translation tone and formality to vendors and internal reviewers
• Address concerns raised by customers, regional teams, or translation reviewers regarding translation quality
• Own and distribute the decision framework to determine mandatory languages and service level for all content across the company
• Vendor Relationships and Tooling Manage approved translation and localization vendors and tools for enterprise-wide use Drive implementation and ongoing support with vendors, setup, enhancements to self-service capabilities, and integration points Act as the business owner for translation systems, functionality, and interfaces Track enterprise-wide spending and seek cost efficiencies through vendor and process strategies
• Processes: Establish a Global Content Delivery pipeline for translated content company-wide Collaborate with vendors and key stakeholders to utilize and continuously improve a self-service translation capability Create and deliver training for cross-functional stakeholders on the translation strategy, standards, vendors, tooling, and processes Understand cross-functional and regional needs, driving continuous improvement in localization and translation approaches
