Job summary

Southern Company Services, based in Atlanta, GA, seeks a Manager, Load Forecasting to lead official energy, peak demand, and revenue forecasts for its retail operating companies. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field is required.
• Master’s degree or higher preferred.
• Experience leading technical professionals and cross-functional teams.
• Strong understanding of forecasting, econometrics, statistics, and large-load analysis.
• Experience supporting regulatory filings and testimony is a plus.
• Strong MS Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Annual Forecasting and Planning Cadence for official energy, peak demand, and revenue forecasts.
• Govern forecasting methodologies, models, tools, and assumptions to ensure auditability and regulatory readiness.
• Serve as the Director’s forecasting backup in regulatory proceedings and prepare supporting testimony and filings.
• Create forecasting insights for enterprise decision-making and communicate results to executives and stakeholders.
• Coordinate monthly and quarterly cadence with Sales and Economic Analysis to ensure consistency with the annual forecast.
• Lead scenario and sensitivity analyses for emerging load and technology drivers.
• Develop team leads and succession readiness within the forecasting function.
• Manage the forecasting work portfolio and coordinate cross-system delivery in a hybrid environment.
