Job summary

Echo Global Logistics seeks a Director of Line Haul Strategy & Operations to lead global line haul optimization across the network. You will partner with Operations, Carrier Management, Pricing, Sales, Finance, and Technology to drive capacity, cost control, and service improvements.

The role requires strategic vision and execution, and a track record of delivering measurable improvements in transportation economics, utilization, and profitability. Strong leadership and analytics are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in transportation, logistics, freight brokerage, managed transportation, or supply chain.
• 5+ years of experience in transportation strategy, carrier management, network optimization, pricing, or operations.
• 3+ years of experience leading teams and developing transportation professionals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead line haul strategy aligned with financial and customer objectives.
• Evaluate freight flows, lanes, capacity, and costs to optimize the network.
• Establish lane-level strategies based on profitability and service requirements.
• Lead cross-functional partnerships to improve line haul economics and performance.
• Own line haul financial performance and monitor key metrics like cost per mile and gross margin.
• Partner with Pricing, Sales, and Operations to reflect line haul economics in pricing and planning.
• Develop data-driven tools and dashboards to improve decision-making and visibility.
