Job summary

Lewis University Library in Romeoville, IL seeks a Head of Library Technology and Technical Services to lead technology initiatives and oversee technical services operations. Qualifications

• MLS/MLIS master degree with five or more years of experience managing an integrated library system.
• Five years of academic library experience.
• Working knowledge of online databases, link resolver, finding tools and library resource discovery systems.
• Working knowledge of cataloging practices and metadata formats such as AACRII, RDA, MARC, Dublin Core.
• Computer application knowledge including MS Office and assessment tools.
• Ability to research emerging technologies for deployment of library services.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; proactive project leadership.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and catalog library materials and metadata for electronic and digital resources.
• Oversee original cataloging and supervise technical services operations.
• Administer and implement library software applications and maintain staff hardware.
• Liaise with IT, CARLI, and other vendors; manage the library's ILS and patron loads.
• Support library presence in the learning management system with library staff.
• Coordinate digital collections and university archives/digital repositories.
• Analyze online library resource statistics and support long-range planning.
• Attend professional workshops and vendor meetings; participate in professional organizations.
