Job summary

Massachusetts Bay Community College in Wellesley seeks a Director of Library and Learning Services to provide visionary leadership and supervision of all operations and programs of the Library and Learning Services across campuses. This position oversees service development, staffing, and budget planning to support the college’s educational mission.

The role requires an MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited program and 3–5 years of experience in an academic library, including supervisory

Qualifications

MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited program.
Three to five years of professional experience in an academic library or similar educational environment.
Three to five years of supervisory experience, including supervision of professional and support staff.

Responsibilities

Oversee the overall operation of the Library and Learning Services on all campuses.
Recruit, supervise, and provide training for Library personnel.
Develop long-range plans, budgets, and staffing for Library services.
Manage budgets for print, non-print, and electronic resources and equipment.
Lead Open Educational Resources (OER) and Affordable Educational Resources (AER) initiatives.
Coordinate information literacy and digital literacy initiatives in the curriculum.
Oversee library technologies, cataloging, and technical services.
Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop partnerships and grant opportunities.
Prepare annual reports and serve on college committees.
