Massachusetts Bay Community College in the Greater Boston area seeks a Director of Library and Learning Services to provide executive leadership for the Library and Learning Services across all campuses. The Director will guide services, staff development, and resource management to support student success.

The role also coordinates information literacy and digital literacy initiatives with the Center for Teaching and Learning and other college units, while advancing Open Educational Resources

Competenze

• Master's degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science (MLS/MLIS) from an ALA-accredited program.
• Three to five years of professional experience in an academic library or similar educational environment.
• Three to five years of supervisory experience, including supervision of professional and support staff.

Mansioni

• Oversee the overall operation of the library and develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures.
• Supervise library staff and provide training and professional development opportunities.
• Develop long-range plans, cost projections, and staffing needs for library services.
• Prepare budget requests and oversee expenditures for print, non-print, and electronic resources.
• Ensure the quality and balance of library collections and resources for the college's educational mission.
• Lead Open Educational Resources (OER) and Affordable Educational Resources (AER) initiatives and related programs.
