Job summary

Unity Environmental University seeks a Director of Learning Design to lead the Learning Design and Learning Technology Support teams. The role focuses on operational leadership, portfolio management, and collaboration across Enterprise units to advance online education strategies.

Initial three-to-six month learning period with shadowing of the Executive Director, followed by portfolio assignment to Enterprise or SEBU units, aligned with institutional needs and scope.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in Learning Design, Education, Learning and Development, Learning Product Development, or a relatable field.
• Proven knowledge of instructional design strategies for technology-enhanced and online courses.
• Experience supervising employees and leading multiple projects.
• Experience with learning management systems, such as Canvas.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Familiarity with HTML and CSS.
• Proven ability to communicate with subject matter experts and media developers.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership for Learning Design and Learning Technology Support Specialists.
• Lead institutional initiatives and projects as needs evolve.
• Manage SEBU learning management systems and delivery tools.
• Ensure SEBU course designs reflect appropriate learning theories.
• Stay current with online education technologies and trends.
• Communicate challenges, successes, and failures with leadership.
• Oversee course development, delivery, and evaluation processes.
