Job summary

Elroy Air is seeking a seasoned IT Infrastructure and Security leader to own and scale our corporate IT, networking, endpoints, and SaaS environments across office, lab, and production.

Design secure, compliant environments with access controls and auditability; build and enforce IAM with least-privilege; maintain device management, EDR, and fleet lifecycle; and collaborate with engineering on cloud, lab systems, and manufacturing.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in IT infrastructure or IT systems engineering.
• Deep enterprise IT, networking, and cloud infra experience (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Experience implementing and automating identity systems (Okta or Azure AD).
• Strong knowledge of network architecture, VPNs, firewalls, routing, segmentation.
• Eligible to work in the United States and ITAR/EAR access.
• Hybrid work arrangement with collaboration with engineers and labs.

Job description

• Own end-to-end corporate IT infrastructure, including corporate IT, networking, endpoints, and SaaS


• Design and implement secure, compliant environments with access controls, data segregation, and auditability


• Build and enforce identity and access management systems using least-privilege principles


• Establish device management, endpoint detection and response, and fleet lifecycle processes


• Architect and maintain secure network infrastructure across office, lab, and production environments


• Lead vendor selection and management for IT, security, and infrastructure tooling


• Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures aligned with export control and security requirements


• Partner with engineering on high-performance cloud computing, lab systems, and specialized environments


• Improve monitoring, logging, and incident response capabilities for IT systems


• Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery planning


• Act as a stakeholder in security audits, compliance readiness, and regulatory inspections


• Own and streamline IT elements of employee onboarding and offboarding


• Support the security and maintainability of the corporate website


• Build and lead secure, scalable, high-performance IT systems as Elroy Air scales Chaparral aircraft from flight testing into full-rate production


• Collaborate with engineering, security, legal, and leadership to enable compliant company operations

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, IT operations, or IT systems engineering


• Deep experience with enterprise IT systems, networking, and cloud infrastructure, including AWS, GCP, or Azure


• Experience implementing and automating identity systems such as Okta or Azure AD


• Strong understanding of network architecture, VPNs, firewalls, routes, and segmentation


• Proven track record integrating enterprise IT systems in a fast-paced environment


• Must be eligible to work in the United States


• Ability to receive and maintain access to export-controlled information under ITAR/EAR


• Hybrid work arrangement requiring close collaboration with engineering and lab environments


• Preferred: experience operating in ITAR, EAR, or other export-controlled environments


• Preferred: familiarity with NIST 800-171, CMMC, or similar compliance frameworks


• Preferred: background in aerospace, defense, energy, or deep-tech startups


• Preferred: experience supporting hardware labs, manufacturing environments, or secure facilities


• Preferred: experience scaling IT from an early-stage to growth-stage company
