Job summary

Ernesta Custom Rugs in New York, NY is seeking an experienced Director of Inventory Planning to build and own our inventory planning function. You will design targets, replenishment strategy, and purchasing cadence to optimize working capital while supporting growth.

You'll partner with demand, merchandising, and manufacturing partners to translate forecasts into actionable purchasing plans, establish scalable processes, and drive data-driven decisions across the business.

Qualifications

• 6-8+ years in inventory, merchandise, or demand planning within retail or consumer brand.
• Strong forecasting, inventory planning frameworks, and purchasing strategy expertise.
• Experience planning around supplier lead times and production schedules.
• Analytical with ability to translate data into actionable decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement the inventory planning framework and replenishment cadence.
• Establish scalable processes, reporting, and tools to bring visibility to inventory management as the business grows.
• Develop planning models to inform purchasing decisions and working capital.
• Translate demand forecasts into inventory plans and purchases.
• Collaborate with vendors and manufacturing partners to align production timelines.
