Job summary

Pepper is seeking a strategic, data-driven Director of Planning to own inventory planning, purchasing, and sales planning end to end. You will build the planning function, establish forecasting methods, and create an S&OP cadence with reporting that highlights risk to leadership.

You will analyze SKU-level performance, lead times, and supply risk, collaborating across Product, Marketing, Finance and Operations to guide big bets and capacity planning for growth.

Qualifications

• 8-12+ years of inventory planning experience with leadership and profit optimization.
• Experience in DTC or vertically designed products with end-to-end inventory planning ownership for apparel or size-intensive consumer products.
• Strong understanding of apparel planning fundamentals including size curves, replenishment models, lifecycle planning, and inventory optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design and run the S&OP process, aligning inventory efficiency, product sales forecasting by style, and inventory health and turn.
• Act as the connective tissue between Marketing, Design, Merchandising, Finance, Production, and Sourcing; present recommendations to executives on inventory investment, capacity and risk.
• Build dashboards and reporting to track forecast accuracy, fill rate, inventory turns, stockouts, excess inventory, and service levels.
• Lead inventory investment decisions, capacity planning, and risk assessment with cross-functional partners.
