Job summary

Repair the World is seeking a Director, Institutional Giving to lead grant writing, reporting, and institutional fundraising strategy for a national nonprofit. This role manages the grants portfolio and supervises the Donor Communications Manager.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in fundraising, nonprofit development.
• Experience writing and managing foundation proposals and reports.
• Experience with proposals in the $50,000 to $1,000,000+ range.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience supervising staff and supporting professional growth.
• Experience with CRM systems and donor research tools.
• Passion for Repair the World’s mission and commitment to building thriving Jewish communities.

Responsibilities

• Lead grant writing for foundation proposals, letters of inquiry, and grant reports.
• Translate programs, impact, and priorities into compelling narratives aligned with funder interests.
• Collaborate with program, evaluation, finance, and leadership staff to gather content and required data.
• Ensure timely submission of grant deliverables and maintain high storytelling quality.
• Adapt language to reflect funder priorities while maintaining Repair the World voice.
• Manage relationships with external grant writing consultants as needed.
• Maintain a grants calendar and internal processes across teams.
• Coordinate internal inputs for submissions, including budgets, narratives, and outcomes.
• Support stewardship communications for institutional supporters with timely updates.
• Supervise the Donor Communications Manager and guide donor communications across materials.
