Job summary

City of Baltimore seeks a Superintendent of Transportation Maintenance to oversee the daily operations of a highway maintenance yard and direct the activities of maintenance, repair, equipment operations and office support teams. The role requires five years of highway construction/maintenance experience with two years in supervision and a Maryland Class C driver’s license.

The job may involve evenings, weekends, and site inspections at construction zones, including weather-related emergencies

Qualifications

• Education: accredited high school diploma or GED.
• Five years highway construction/maintenance experience; at least two years supervisory.
• Maryland Class C Noncommercial license or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of highway maintenance yard and direct maintenance, repair, equipment operations and office support teams.
• Oversee field operations and daily progress checks at construction sites; respond to weather emergencies and hazards.
• Maintain records, write reports, and ensure compliance with safety standards and department policies.
