Job summary

The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) seeks a Heavy Equipment Maintenance Supervisor I in Baltimore to manage preventative maintenance and repair of vehicles and heavy equipment. You will supervise technicians and on‑site staff, maintain MAXIMO records, and lead safety initiatives across the shop.

This role requires readiness for on‑call and rotating shifts, with oversight of stock, budgets, and equipment history to ensure continuous operation of MDTA facilities.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience servicing, maintaining and repairing motor vehicles, gasoline and/or diesel engines, or heavy‑duty construction equipment.
• Substitutions allowed: related experience in lieu of education, or training programs may reduce education requirements.
• ASE certifications may substitute for experience/education per policy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain stockroom with parts inventory to meet daily shop demands.
• Develop equipment needs and present to management for annual budget.
• Ensure safety inspections are performed on all equipment.
• Ensure all motorized equipment is properly serviced and maintained.
• Record all work and equipment history in MAXIMO.
• Provide safety training and enforce safety regulations in shop operations.
