The Superintendent of Operations provides executive-level leadership, direction, and accountability for the maintenance and operational functions of the Department of General Services Fleet Management Division. The Superintendent is responsible for ensuring that Fleet Operations functions as a safe, standardized, disciplined, data-driven, and customer-focused maintenance organization.
The Superintendent has direct responsibility for fleet maintenance operations, asset readiness, preventive and corrective maintenance, repair quality, workforce performance, shop productivity, operational safety, emergency and roadside response, technician development, maintenance documentation, and continuous operational improvement.
The Superintendent is responsible for ensuring that Fleet Operations functions as a controlled operating system rather than a reactive repair environment, recognizing that standardization directly affects safety, vehicle uptime, cost control, scalability, service quality, and data integrity.
Positions in the Operations Officer series contribute to the effective management of an organizational unit e.g., section, division or agency by supervising and/or managing staff, problem solving as an individual contributor or project managing.
