Job summary

Sportsmith is seeking a High-Performance LTAD lead to deliver and advance an integrated academy program for players. You will work with the MDT and coaches to guide field sessions, recovery strategies, and performance testing, while ensuring alignment with club philosophy and high standards of professionalism.

You will manage GPS data, analytics, and off-season programming, travel for away matches, and represent the club with top class appearance.

Responsibilities

• Work with Director of Performance and MDT to provide an integrated High-Performance LTAD program for Academy players, aligning with Club philosophy.
• Direct and/or assist in field, prehabilitation, strength, rehabilitation sessions and match day warm-ups; teach proper technique and safety.
• Direct and/or assist with GPS distribution, collection, download, and cutting; wellness monitoring, testing administration, RPE collection, compiling analysis, and reporting.
• Contribute to LTAD programming, data collection, testing, analytics, and reporting to develop football-oriented high-performance solutions.
• Deliver scientifically based recovery strategies post-training and post-match.
• Develop individual and team off-season training programs.
• Perform routine micro-testing to track physical progress relative to LTAD and scouting expectations.
• Establish yearly goals based on test results; develop key performance metrics and benchmarks.
• Plan and execute activation, strength and conditioning programs (4/5 sessions/week) with coaches and staff; warmups on match days.
• Travel to away matches; assist with off-field activities and travel; attend staff/league meetings in person or virtually.
• Maintain communication with academy coaches and families; update Academy Director and Director of Coaching as needed.
• Collaborate with Scouting Director to evaluate trialists; assist in talent identification training sessions.
• Assist with club logistics and manage projects; develop the capability of assistant coaches; represent D.C. United with professionalism.
