Reports to: CEO
The Opportunity
We’re building the platform that runs startup legal on autopilot. By combining Big Law-trained attorneys, AI, and purpose-built software, we provide venture-backed startups with an entire in-house legal function for a predictable monthly fee—without hourly billing or surprise invoices.
Backed by leading venture investors, the company has reached seven-figure revenue and serves more than 50 clients. We are now looking for a Head of Growth to build and own the growth function from the ground up.
This is a hands‑on builder role—not a position focused solely on managing agencies or directing a large team. You will personally create campaigns, write content, build automations, develop partnerships, host events, and generate qualified pipeline. As channels become repeatable, you will hire and lead the company’s first growth team.
You will report directly to the CEO and play a central role in growing the business from approximately 50–60 customers to 500–600.
What You’ll Do
- Own the top‑of‑funnel pipeline target and the systems required to achieve it.
- Define, test, and continually refine the ideal customer profile.
- Build and run multi‑channel outbound campaigns across email, LinkedIn, warm introductions, and venture and accelerator networks.
- Personally generate qualified opportunities rather than relying exclusively on agencies or junior team members.
- Support the sales process and help close opportunities when appropriate, with uncapped performance upside tied to results.
Build the growth infrastructure
- Create the data and automation layer supporting outbound and lifecycle campaigns.
- Use enrichment, sequencing, CRM, scripting, no‑code tools, and AI to make campaigns more targeted and scalable.
- Instrument the funnel from first touch through conversion.
- Establish clear reporting for pipeline quality, channel performance, and conversion.
- Ship growth experiments every week, quickly stop what is not working, and systematize what succeeds.
Grow the brand
- Own the company’s voice across LinkedIn, X, email, landing pages, events, and other founder‑facing channels.
- Produce sharp, credible content that earns the attention of startup founders and operators.
- Turn customer outcomes and testimonials into compelling stories.
- Create launches, earned‑media opportunities, and brand moments that establish the company as a category leader.
- Represent the brand confidently on stage, on camera, online, and in conversations with founders.
Develop partnerships and community
- Build referral relationships with venture firms, accelerators, and other organizations serving startups.
- Create repeatable partner motions that introduce the company to its core audience of venture‑backed founders.
- Plan and execute founder dinners, workshops, community programs, and accelerator events.
- Turn customers into active advocates and sources of referrals.
- Build a trusted community of founders and operators around the company.
Build the team
- Identify the channels and capabilities worth scaling.
- Hire the company’s first growth team members as those channels prove effective.
- Establish the operating rhythms, playbooks, and performance standards for the growth function.
What We’re Looking For
- 3–6 years of experience in growth marketing, demand generation, or a similarly hands‑on growth role.
- A track record of generating pipeline directly through outbound, organic, earned, partnership, or community‑led channels.
- Experience building growth programs in an early‑stage or highly entrepreneurial environment.
- Hands‑on knowledge of the modern go‑to‑market stack, including CRM, enrichment, sequencing, and automation tools.
- Fluency with scripting or no‑code platforms for building workflows and automations.
- Daily, practical use of large language models to research, create, automate, and improve your work.
- Excellent writing skills across cold emails, social posts, landing pages, event invitations, and campaign copy.
- Strong analytical instincts and the ability to connect day‑to‑day experiments with pipeline and revenue.
- Comfort operating with limited resources, making decisions quickly, and personally executing the work.
- Confidence representing the company in person, on stage, and on camera.
- A history of sustained ownership and meaningful impact in previous roles.
Especially Valuable
- Experience as a founder, founding team member, or early growth hire at a venture‑backed startup.
- Experience working with a company backed by a top‑tier venture firm or participating in a leading accelerator.
- An existing audience or strong network among startup founders, investors, and operators.
- Familiarity with selling to venture‑backed startups.
- Experience creating referral channels through venture firms, accelerators, or startup‑service providers.
- The ability and interest to contribute to closing deals as well as generating them.
What Success Looks Like
- Built a consistent, measurable pipeline‑generation engine.
- Sharpened the company’s ideal customer profile and market positioning.
- Established repeatable outbound, referral, partnership, content, and community channels.
- Created the systems and reporting needed to understand the complete funnel.
- Increased awareness and credibility among venture‑backed founders and startup operators.
- Turned successful experiments into scalable playbooks.
- Begun building the growth team around the channels with the strongest results.
