Job summary

ezCater, the #1 food tech platform for workplaces in the US, seeks a leader for Experience Engineering. You will own the front-end platform, ordering experience, and the full customer journey from discovery through cart and draft order submission.

You will lead three teams—Discovery Experience, Ordering Experience, and Front-End Platform—and report to the VP of Engineering. You will drive Next.js/React/TypeScript architecture, CI/CD, observability, performance budgets, and AI-powered product

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience standing up front-end engineering organizations.
• Deep fluency in Next.js (App Router), React, TypeScript, and modern build tooling (e.g., Turborepo, Rspack).
• Experience leading multi-team web applications with micro-frontend architectures and cross-MFE concerns.
• Ownership of a transactional customer journey — discovery, cart, checkout, payment.
• Practical AI fluency across front-end work and AI-powered product features.
• Design system experience — tokens, theming, cross-platform consistency.
• Expertise in performance and observability, including Core Web Vitals and RUM.
• Experience leading engineering managers and teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 5 days per quarter.

Responsibilities

• Own front-end platform and architecture across Next.js, React, TypeScript, and Astro.
• Define CI/CD, observability, accessibility, and performance budgets across channels.
• Own the full ordering experience from discovery to payment with BFF layers.
• Drive AI-native front-end development and AI-assisted features.
• Ensure API-first, machine-readable front ends for AI agents.
• Own the design system as infrastructure for humans and AI.
• Lead and develop three engineering teams and recruitment.
• Maintain high technical bar by reviewing designs and identifying performance issues.
