Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. seeks a Manager of Foundry Engineering & Engineering Enablement to lead the Foundry engineering team, establish the backlog and cadence, and partner with Palantir and internal stakeholders to translate business priorities into executable engineering plans.

You will drive engineering enablement across CI/CD, tooling, reliability, and production readiness, building an internal capability and durable delivery model for Foundry-based solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years relevant experience, including 3+ years leading software/platform/cloud engineering teams.
• Strong hands-on understanding of modern software engineering practices, including source control, CI/CD, testing, deployment automation, observability, and production support.
• Experience with cloud platforms, APIs, distributed systems, integration, containers, infrastructure automation, or developer platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical work across multiple teams and translate business or product goals into executable engineering plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Foundry engineering team, including Palantir FDEs, transitioning BI developers, and future McCarthy Foundry engineers.
• Establish one Foundry engineering backlog, delivery cadence, technical direction, and production ownership model.
• Partner with Palantir and internal stakeholders to translate business and product priorities into executable engineering plans.
• Lead the transition from primarily partner-delivered capacity toward a durable McCarthy Foundry engineering capability.
• Coordinate technical dependencies across Foundry, applications, integrations, data, AI, security, and enterprise architecture.
• Ensure Foundry solutions are designed for maintainability, supportability, security, reliability, and operational readiness.
• Establish practical development, testing, release, and production-support practices for Foundry delivery.
• Establish and mature CI/CD practices for engineering teams and shared platforms.
• Improve developer experience through reusable tooling, templates, environments, automation, and engineering workflows.
• Establish quality engineering practices, including test automation, integration testing, regression coverage, and release controls.
• Build reliability practices covering observability, incident readiness, resilience, operational runbooks, and production support.
• Define and reinforce engineering standards for source control, branching, code review, automation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and supportability.
• Partner with platform administration on environment readiness, access, governance, platform health, and FinOps-related dependencies.
• Create reusable reference implementations and patterns that accelerate delivery across applications, Foundry, data, and AI.
• Set clear expectations for delivery, technical quality, collaboration, and operational ownership.
• Coach engineers and technical leads and create a culture of learning, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Manage employees, contractors, and strategic delivery partners as applicable to the final role level.
• Make tradeoffs visible and elevate risks, dependencies, and decisions early.
• Establish meaningful measures for engineering flow, quality, reliability, delivery predictability, and platform adoption.
• Contribute to hiring, workforce planning, onboarding, and capability development.
