Job summary

Patriot Disposal is seeking a Director of Fleet Maintenance to lead a diverse, high-performance team responsible for the maintenance and readiness of the fleet across our waste management operations in Maryland. You will develop strategic programs, manage budgets, and drive continuous improvement to maximize asset life and minimize downtime.

You will oversee safety, compliance, vendor management, and reporting while collaborating with operations to meet service targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years in fleet maintenance management, preferably in waste/environmental services.
• Proven experience leading large teams and complex maintenance operations.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle/equipment maintenance, safety and regulatory compliance.
• Proficient with fleet management software and maintenance tracking systems.
• Master's degree and CAFM certification are preferred.
• Experience with sustainability initiatives and budgeting in large operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute fleet maintenance strategies to ensure reliability and safety.
• Lead fleet maintenance team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
• Oversee schedules, inspections, repairs, and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare and manage fleet maintenance budget, procurement, and vendor management.
• Analyze fleet data to forecast needs and drive continuous improvements.
• Coordinate with operations to ensure fleet availability aligns with service delivery.
• Implement maintenance management systems and reporting tools.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
