Qualifications

• Experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably with waste management, heavy equipment, or truck fleets.
• Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems; able to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Certifications: CDL is a plus; formal diesel mechanic training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle maintenance: diagnose, service, and repair diesel-powered waste trucks and heavy equipment (rear-load, front-load, roll-off).
• Perform preventive maintenance, engine checks, fluid changes, brake adjustments, and tire replacements.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues; replace worn or damaged parts (brakes, engines, hydraulics, transmissions, air systems).
• Ensure safety compliance with standards and company protocols; maintain records of work and parts used; collaborate with fleet team.
