Job Summary

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis will lead all financial planning and analysis for the company, both strategic and tactical. The executive will develop the global business performance framework, drive operational excellence, and position the company for continued success.

This role transforms overarching strategy into long‑range plans, annual operating and capital budgets, and supports internal and Board‑level presentations. The Head ensures high‑quality financial projections, an integrated financial strategy, and effective use of shared services and outsourcing, engaging a global mindset and a customer‑centric approach.

Essential Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor a high‑quality annual budget and rolling forecasts process, ensuring all business unit budgets are comprehensive with detailed financial assumptions.
• Oversee design and development of standard reports to provide deep insights into current period results, identify key business trends, and deliver correlation analysis of KPIs.
• Ensure all reporting requirements meet the financial communication needs of investors, rating agencies and other external parties.
• Collaborate with finance, capital management, enterprise risk management and executive leadership to identify opportunities for new or improved business processes, methods and technologies.
• Provide education and training on financial planning and analysis to operations management, including design and implementation of reporting tools, project management and performance analysis.

Qualifications / Experience Required

• Proven property/casualty executive experience leading strategic design of financial information for a global insurance organization; industry experience may be on the admitted or non‑admitted side.
• Strong finance, accounting and analytical background, with Oracle ERP experience preferred.
• Excellent communication at senior leadership and executive‑Board level; proven leadership, interpersonal and analytical abilities.
• Direct experience with large projects involving capital investments, mergers and acquisitions, business transfers and divestitures.
• Track record of driving talent management and building competitive advantage within a matrix culture and shared service environment.
• Undergraduate degree and blend of strategy and implementation.
• Entrepreneurial and continuous improvement mindset, capable of migrating current‑state financial planning and analysis processes to future‑state requirements.
• Ability to think conceptually, understand complex business issues and provide strong financial acumen.

Compensation

The base salary for this role is $259.8k – $320k for Chicago and New York City locations. Pay ranges may differ in other locations. All employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance, plus a generous benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, paid time off and professional development opportunities.
