Job summary

Clearbrook Group Services Inc. is seeking an experienced production underwriter to market, underwrite and process assigned lines of business in an in-office role at a designated company office.

The position requires at least a bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of insurance experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to travel. You will work with brokers to negotiate terms, price policies, and analyze data, with opportunities for professional development and a competitive bonus potential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and three-plus years related insurance experience and/or equivalent combination of education.
  • Three years underwriting experience with authority, preferably in FI lines.
  • Proven track record of driving profitable growth.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrates an understanding and ability to effectively engage in the negotiation process.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Previous insurance educational work, IIA and CPCU designation preferred.
  • Detail oriented with initiative and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize underwriting tools to determine accurate classifications, rates, and premium charges.
  • Interact in person, via email, and by phone with brokers to obtain further risk-specific details, negotiate terms and pricing, and explain company positions.
  • Manage assigned portfolio in underwriting territory, including the performance (GWP, loss ratio) of assigned brokers.
  • Create, analyze, and interpret data from various reports/dashboards.
  • Complete underwriting analysis and maintain complete underwriting file.
  • Resolve audit disputes within assigned territory.
  • Review state laws, including cancellation and non-renewal, within assigned territory to properly transact business within the state.
  • Participate in educational sessions within the department.

Job Description

Base Salary & Pay Range

Richmond & Omaha Pay Range $74,052 - $121,992

Chicago Houston & Albany Pay Range $$81,294 - $134,232

Los Angeles & New York City Pay Range $88,842 - $146,472

The base salary range provided below is for hires in those geographic areas only and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.
